How hot can this oil go?

It is built for high temperatures, up to 180°C according to Kazidomi, which covers deep frying, oven cooking and stir-frying. This is a high-oleic sunflower oil, deodorised, and its neutral taste does not pass into whatever is cooked in it. The bottle holds 1 L.

Cooking oil or extra virgin olive oil for cooking?

The Kazidomi cooking oil is deodorised and neutral, built for strong heat and for frying. An extra virgin olive oil keeps its aromas and belongs in dressings or gentle cooking. Using the first to sear also avoids wasting the fruity flavour of the second on a smoking pan.

What does deodorised mean?

That the oil has been through a refining stage which strips out the volatile compounds responsible for the taste and the smell of the seed. The result at Kazidomi is a neutral sunflower oil, suited to preparations where no aftertaste is wanted: baking, mayonnaise, batter for fritters.

How long does it keep once opened?

Kazidomi recommends using it within six months of opening, and closing the cap firmly after each use. The 1 L bottle keeps somewhere cool, dry and out of the light. An oil that starts to smell of old frying has gone rancid and should be thrown away.

Does it contain allergens?

The Kazidomi oil is 100% deodorised high-oleic sunflower oil from organic farming. The pack does flag possible traces of nuts and sesame seeds, picked up from the production line, which anyone with those allergies has to take into account. The oil itself is produced in France.
