Psyllium Powder Organic

How do I prepare psyllium powder?

Stir it into a liquid, water or a fruit or vegetable juice, and drink it straight away, at the dose given on the Kazidomi bag. The mixture thickens quickly and becomes hard to swallow after a few minutes. Following it with a further glass of water is advised.

Psyllium powder or whole husks: what is the difference?

Kazidomi sells the psyllium here as a powder, finer than whole husks. It disperses faster in a liquid and thickens sooner, which is why it has to be drunk at once. Whole husks are coarser, stay visible in the glass and swell more slowly than the powder does.

Where does this psyllium come from?

India, the main growing country for the plant. The Kazidomi 200 g bag holds organic psyllium powder and nothing else: no carrier, no flavouring, no anti-caking agent. The ingredient list runs to a single line, which is unusual for a product of this kind.

What happens when it meets water?

Psyllium carries a mucilage that soaks up liquid, so the powder swells and forms a gel within minutes. That is ordinary physics, not a sign that something has gone wrong. It is the reason Kazidomi advises mixing at the last moment and drinking enough water alongside it.

What should I be careful about?

Kazidomi does not recommend it for children under six and asks that the dose printed on the pack be respected. Close the bag carefully after each use and keep it dry, since damp makes the powder swell in the bag. If in doubt, ask a health professional.
