Whole Prunes Origin France DDM 17/10/2026 Organic

Are these prunes pitted?

Yes, they are whole and pitted: the fruit keeps its shape, but the stone has been taken out. Kazidomi Vrac prunes come from French organic farming, and the ingredient list stops at the prune. The bag holds 500 g and is taken by weight, with no individual packaging.

Prunes or dried pineapple for cooking?

The Kazidomi Vrac prune is soft, dark and sweet without acidity: it melts into a slow-cooked dish, a rabbit, a tagine or a far. Dried pineapple stays tart and firmer, better suited to cold preparations and dried fruit mixes. The two do not play the same part in a recipe.

Do they need rehydrating before use?

Not for eating as they come: they are already supple. For baking or a stuffing, ten to twenty minutes soaking in hot water, tea or juice plumps them and makes them softer. Kazidomi Vrac prunes then blend easily into a purée to bind a preparation.

Where do these prunes come from?

From France, and they come from organic farming. Kazidomi Vrac puts that local origin forward for a fruit whose production has long been established in the south-west of the country. The harvest is dried after picking, which explains the dark colour and the wrinkled skin of the finished product.

How do I keep them supple?

Somewhere cool and dry, in an airtight box, according to what Kazidomi Vrac indicates. Prolonged contact with air dries the fruit out and makes it firm. A light bloom of white crystals at the surface is sugar from the fruit rising: it is not mould and the product is still fine to eat.
