Balanced Coffee Beans Fairtrade Peru Organic

Where does this coffee bean come from?

From Peru, 100% arabica, grown organically and traded under Fairtrade terms. Kazidomi has it roasted in France, by a family firm based in Alsace. The pack holds a kilo of whole beans, to be ground at the moment of brewing according to the machine you use.

What should I expect from a 100% arabica?

A mild, fine cup, with a touch of acidity at the finish and a light bitterness. Arabica carries less caffeine than robusta. The Kazidomi coffee from Peru stays in the supple profiles, without the power of a blend that has robusta in it.

Balanced or full-bodied: what is the difference in the cup?

This one is a pure Peruvian arabica: mild, aromatic, gently acidic. The Kazidomi full-bodied blend adds 40% robusta from Tanzania, which builds the bitterness, the body and the caffeine. The choice comes down mostly to the intensity you want in the morning or after a meal.

Does it need a particular grind?

That depends on the method: fine for espresso, medium for a filter machine, coarser for a cafetière. The Kazidomi beans suit any machine that takes whole coffee, with or without a built-in grinder. A grind that is too fine in a filter makes the cup bitter.

How do I keep the beans aromatic?

In an airtight, opaque tin, away from heat, damp and light, as Kazidomi indicates. Grind only the amount you need: once ground, coffee loses its aromas within a few days. The one-kilo pack is best decanted into two containers rather than one.
