Hazelnut Praline Collagen Bar (5 g collagen / bar)

Hazelnut praline or red fruit: which collagen bar?

The Kazidomi hazelnut praline bar leans on hazelnut purée and hazelnut pieces, with dark chocolate chips, cocoa and a trace of freeze-dried coffee behind them: roasted, soft, faintly bitter. The red fruit bar is built on freeze-dried raspberry and cashew and reads far sharper. Both weigh 42 g and carry 5 g of collagen peptides.

What allergens does it contain?

Tree nuts, in three forms: hazelnut pieces, hazelnut purée and almond powder. The Kazidomi praline bar also holds cocoa and freeze-dried coffee. Its recipe is gluten-free and lists no dairy ingredient. Anyone with a nut allergy should leave this one alone, since hazelnut is a main component here and not an incidental trace.

How should I store this bar?

Cool, dry and away from light, wrapper closed until you eat it. The Kazidomi praline bar does not want the fridge: cold hardens the date paste and flattens the hazelnut aroma. Left in a bag in the sun, on the other hand, the dark chocolate chips soften and smear across the inside of the film.

Is there caffeine in it?

A small amount, yes. Freeze-dried coffee and cocoa both sit in the recipe, so the Kazidomi praline bar carries traces of caffeine where the caramel pecan and red fruit versions do not. The quantity is low, since the coffee sits far down the ingredient list, but it is worth knowing before giving one to a child in the evening.

Where does the praline taste come from?

From the hazelnut work: hazelnut purée and hazelnut pieces, backed by cocoa, dark chocolate chips and a touch of freeze-dried coffee that stretches the roasted note out. The sweetness comes mainly from date paste, tapioca syrup and agave inulin rather than from added sugar. Kazidomi makes the bar in Belgium.
