Peach or lemon ginger: which is the gentler drink?

The peach from Pulse Protein, clearly. Green tea extract and natural peach flavouring give it an iced tea profile, round and barely tart. The lemon ginger leans on lemon juice and ginger juice instead, with a peppery finish. Both hold 3.4% pea protein and come in 330 ml.

Does this drink contain caffeine?

It holds a green tea extract, which naturally carries a small amount, along with a broad bean extract. Pulse Protein gives no figure for it on the product sheet. The rest of the recipe is sparkling water, hydrolysed pea protein, cane sugar, lemon juice and natural flavourings.

How should I serve it?

Straight from the fridge, very cold, with a slice of lemon if you want to sharpen the iced tea side of it. The Pulse Protein peach sparkling water is never heated and never mixed with powder. Its 330 ml works out at a large glass and a half, to drink soon after opening.

Where does its amber colour come from?

From the green tea extract and the plain colouring listed on the ingredients, which together produce that iced tea shade. The Pulse Protein drink stays clear: the hydrolysed pea protein dissolves without leaving a deposit. A slight shift in tone from one batch to the next means nothing.

Is it very sweet?

It contains cane sugar, but only a little: Pulse Protein places it among its low sugar drinks, at 2 g of sugars per 100 ml. The taste rests mostly on the green tea extract and the natural peach flavouring. It is drunk as it comes, with nothing added, in place of a shop-bought iced tea.
